What's this I hear about no more IRB renewals?

One of the new regulatory changes is that most expedited research does not need to be renewed.  There will be exceptions and we will issue guidance and post updated SOPs this week.

In the meantime, you MUST RENEW all studies that IRBIS flags as expiring.  When we receive the renewal request, we will determine if Continuing Review (regulatory speak for renewals) no longer applies to your study--or if you are now exempt under the new regulations (odds are you will be one or the other!).  When we process the review we will remove the Continuing Review or reclassify your study as Exempt.

NOTE:  IRBIS will still list an "expiration date" within 1 year of the approval date of the study. However, this will not trigger a renewal on that date.
