Responsible Authorship fosters collaboration and fairness.  We created some resources below on how to discuss authorship, how to identify roles & responsibilities for assigning authorship credit, and how to navigate authorship disputes.

If you plan to discuss Responsible Authorship, we have created a document that can be used as talking points or serve as a handout for students.  Likewise, if you are beginning a collaborative project with the goal of publication, how do you navigate roles, responsbilities, and authorship?  This handout serves a dual purpose!Responsible Authorship

Data Management

Data Management can be complex, when you take into account Open Science, data security, protecting human subjects, and publication practices.  We have created some resources for you to use for teaching and your own reference.

Conflicts of Interest

Human Participants

While our IRB webpages have many more resources, here are some basics on the topic of consent.  When it comes to respecting and protecting human subjects in research, consent is THE most important process and document.  Here are some basics on writing good consent forms.

 Are you struggling with creating a consent form that is easy to read and understand?  We created a checksheet for you to provide some helpful tips.  It is best applied to a drafted consent document but you can also use it to get started. Consent Readability Guidance

We co-hosted a workshop on May 2 with Appalachian Regional Healthcare System and the Blue Cross NC Institute of Health and Human Services.  A video of the presentations will be uploaded soon.  As a result of the workshop, we will develop a series of workshops on consent writing and recruitment for the community.  Look for annoucements in the fall! Coming soon!
